Terms and conditions

Effective date:

These terms apply to all services provided by . Please read them carefully before accepting a quote or signing a service agreement.

1. Overview

("Bug Broz", "we", "us" or "our") provides residential and commercial pest control services in Calgary and the surrounding area. By accepting a quote, signing a service agreement or receiving our services, you ("the Client") agree to these terms.

2. Quotes and pricing

Each quote is valid for 21 days from the date it is issued. After that, prices may be subject to change.

We do our best to keep prices steady by purchasing treatment materials in bulk at the beginning of your contract. However, product and supply costs change over time, so we can't guarantee that prices will stay the same beyond the term of your current agreement.

3. Our services

The services included in your plan, and how many visits it covers, are set out in your quote or service agreement.

  • Treatments are weather-dependent. We may reschedule a visit because of rain, wind, snow or temperature to make sure the treatment works as it should.
  • Results depend on many factors, including the type of pest, the conditions on your property and how closely prevention advice is followed. We'll always tell you honestly what to expect.
  • We use pet and kid safe practices and apply all products according to their label directions.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Give us access to the areas being treated on your scheduled service date, including unlocking gates.
  • Keep pets secured or indoors during treatment.
  • Tell us about anything we should know before treating, such as allergies, gardens you don't want treated, beehives, ponds or water features.
  • Let us know about any concerns with a service as soon as possible so we can make it right.
  • Keep your contact and payment information up to date.

5. Safety after treatment

Your technician will tell you how long to keep people and pets away from treated areas. As a general rule, keep children and pets off treated surfaces until they are completely dry, and follow any other instructions your technician gives you.

6. Payment and billing

  • Payment is due as set out in your quote or service agreement.
  • Overdue balances may result in late fees or a pause in service until the account is brought up to date.

7. Cancellation and billing terms

If services are cancelled, the Client remains responsible for payment of all completed work and associated costs up to the effective cancellation date. Under the Bug Broz fee structure:

  1. Initial service standard rate. The first service represents 50% of the total contract value. If cancellation happens after the initial service has been performed, the Client will be billed 50% of the full contract value, regardless of the length of the subscription.
  2. Partial completion. Any later work or remaining services that are partially completed before cancellation will be billed on a pro-rata (proportional) basis.
  3. Repayment of promotional discounts. All promotional rates, credits and discounts applied to a contract depend on the full contract term being completed. If the contract is cancelled early, these discounts and waived fees are removed, billed retroactively, and due immediately when the contract ends.
  4. Non-transferable and non-refundable services. Unused services can't be rolled over to a following year, transferred, or refunded to the account. Treatment materials are purchased specifically for the current service period and have a limited shelf life, so they can't be held for later use.

To cancel, contact us using the details in section 12.

8. Your right to cancel

If you signed up for pest control with one of our door-to-door representatives, at your home or anywhere other than our office, you can cancel your service agreement for any reason within 10 days of receiving your copy of the signed contract. This right comes from Alberta's Consumer Protection Act.

To cancel within this period, contact us using the details in section 12. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Alberta consumer protection law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law:

  • Pest control reduces and controls pest activity, but no treatment can guarantee a property will be completely pest-free at all times. If pests return during your service term, contact us and we'll work with you to address it.
  • We are not responsible for damage pests caused before your service started, such as chewed wiring, insulation, wood or lawn damage.
  • We are not responsible for reduced results or other issues caused when treated areas are disturbed, washed or watered before a treatment has dried, or when the instructions your technician gives you aren't followed.
  • We are not responsible for disturbance to bait or monitoring stations that are moved, damaged or removed by anyone other than our team.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific service the claim relates to, and we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses.

10. Disputes and governing law

If you have a concern, please contact us first. Most issues can be resolved quickly with a conversation. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page, with its effective date at the top. Changes don't affect a contract you have already signed unless you agree to them.
